Vocal Coach
Ashlee Pape-Thorpe is a classically trained vocalist and seasoned educator with a diverse and accomplished background in both the performing arts and behavioral sciences. She began her formal training at the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, a competitive, audition-based residential high school specializing in the arts, where she studied vocal performance.
She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina. Furthering her commitment to education and student development, Ashlee holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
While currently working as a Behavior Analyst, specializing in supporting children with challenging behaviors, Ashlee brings over 20 years of experience as a vocal coach and music educator. She has taught choir at the elementary, middle, and high school levels and has had a private voice studio where she has coached students in a wide range of vocal styles.
As a performer, Ashlee has appeared in numerous operas and musicals, including The Fantasticks, West Side Story, Grease, The Baddest Angel Band, Merry Wives of Windsor, and Gypsy. She has also competed in NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competitions and other vocal performance contests. Her repertoire spans classical arias by Puccini, Verdi, and Caldara, as well as American folk songs, country music, and jazz standards, which she has performed at local venues and speakeasies across the country.
As a voice teacher, Ashlee is passionate about helping students discover and refine their unique vocal identity. She has successfully guided aspiring performers through auditions for college programs, musical theater productions, and professional engagements, fostering not only vocal technique but also confidence and artistic growth.
